What is ChangeUp?
ChangeUp is a government programme to improve the infrastructure of the voluntary and community sector. It is developed in partnership with the sector and led by the Capacitybuilders agency.
What does the government mean by 'infrastructure?'
By "infrastructure" the government means the physical facilities, structures, systems, relationships, people, knowledge and skills that exist to support and develop, co-ordinate, represent and promote front line organisations thus enabling them to deliver their missions more effectively.
What is its aim?
ChangeUp's aim is that by 2014 the needs of frontline voluntary and community organisations in England will be met by support which is:
- available nationwide
- structured for maximum efficiency
- offering excellent provision
- accessible to all
- truly reflecting and promoting diversity
- sustainably funded
Who is leading ChangeUp in Waltham Forest?
Waltham Forest Voluntary Action is leading on the development of Change Up in Waltham Forest and we have set up cross-sectoral steering group know as the Change Up Core Group.
