Russell Investments Charitable Fund

The Capital Community Foundation is pleased to announce the re-opening of the Russell Investments Charitable Fund for 2010. If you are a local voluntary or community group and you need funding for a project focusing on young people and education, employment and training this grant fund may be able to help.

The fund is available to groups from all London boroughs and is targeting projects supporting young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) or those at risk of becoming NEET.

Grant Size: maximum £5,000. Income threshold for groups applying: less than £150,000

Deadline: 5pm, 2nd July 2010

Disability Action - Launch of the Stay Safe project - 8th June

At the Score building, 100 Oliver Road, 3pm ( for a 4pm start) to 7pm.

Several speakers of interest to disabled people and residents of Waltham Forest will be at the launch introducing the project and speaking on the issues. Disability Hate Crime, domestic violence, bullying and harassment incidents impact every area of a disabled person's life when it occurs.

Waltham Forest Cycling Campaign - cycle ride on Sunday 23rd May

They will gather outside Waltham Forest Central Library and leave at 9 am, for a ride to Eltham Palace (boyhood home of Henry V111 ), in the Borough of Greenwich. Visiting the Palace, for which there is an entry charge, is optional. The ride is at a relaxed and sociable pace. It’s suitable for the occasional cyclist, but, for this reason, will take most of the day. They will be back in Waltham Forest around 4-5 p.m. Folk can bring sandwiches for lunch.  

Looking for office space?

The Sikh Community Care Project (SCCP) is looking for another organisation to share their office premises in Leyton. The total rent, with bills, is up to £15,000 per year.

Free Safeguarding Adults Awareness Training

This half-day course is run by Waltham Forest Council. It will give an overall awareness of the issues of abuse, potential abuse and prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults (aged 18+).The training is free but there is a charge for non-attendance.
