Whipps Cross Consultation on 'Quality Accounts'
In 'High Quality Care for All' (2008) the Government proposed that all providers of NHS care should produce Quality Accounts to give the public information on the quality of care which they provide. Legislation has been introduced requiring providers to publish Quality Accounts from 2009-10.
It is important that the public can judge performance through both national standards and locally set priorities, therefore the views of our local community will need to be taken into account to ensure that our Quality Accounts are both informative and accessible. We are inviting your respective groups to consider the list of quality indicators under each element i.e. Safety, Effectiveness, Patient Experience and Staff Experience and for you to recommend, from each element, 2 indicators for inclusion in our Quality Accounts. Also if there are any gaps in the indicators we would be grateful if you could make recommendations of any you feel should be included.
We appreciate that you may wish to find out more detail in order to come to a decision about the 2 indicators from each element so please do not hesitate to contact Frances Hollwey or Cathy Geddes (on 8535 6645 internal ext 5304) who will be happy to discuss this with you. The closing date for consultation is Friday 29 January 2010.
