Minimum Standards & Quality Marks

Voluntary Action Waltham Forest  we have a business development officer, to work with voluntary sector organisations in the Borough, with the aim of promoting their sustainability. A key method of doing so is to encourage organisations to meet minimum standards, and obtain quality marks.

Waltham Forest has introduced a Certificate of Minimum Standards (CMS), for voluntary organisations working with children and young people. It is likely that funders will increasingly insist on evidence of minimum standards, as part of their safeguarding strategy. The Borough’s minimum standards do not provide quality assurance of the services delivered by voluntary organisations, but do act as a foundation for quality marking processes.

Voluntary Action Waltham Forest can advise voluntary sector organisations on the most cost-efficient steps they can take, to meet the twin objectives of ensuring minimum standards, and encouraging quality provision. It can, in some instances, fund the cost of relevant accreditations.
