Voluntary Action Waltham Forest (VAWF) is committed to safeguarding your privacy online. We also comply fully with the Data Protection Act 1998.
‘Personally identifiable information’ is information that enables us to identify you, such as your email address, name, title, and address.

1. What personally identifiable information does VAWF collect from me?
When people visit our website, VAWF collects their IP address and information regarding which pages are accessed and when. This information does not allow us to personally identify you.
Landlords who register their venues on the accommodation database are asked for their own contact details, such as address, fax, phone and email. We also collect information volunteered by users, such as survey information, email address and your preferred means of communication. This information does allow us to personally identify you.
VAWF does not sell on lists to others.
2. Does VAWF use cookies?
A cookie is a small piece of data containing a unique, anonymous number which is stored on your hard drive by your internet browser when you visit a website, so that customised information can be recalled when you visit the site again.
VAWF does not, at present, use cookies to record the pages that are browsed by normal users. We do, however use cookies for those pages used by Landlords. These cookies enable us to store anonymous information about the Landlord, and so make the use of the website by Landlords easier.
The browser you are using should have specific instructions on how to control the acceptance of cookies and how to delete any unwanted cookies from your hard drive.
3. How does VAWF use my information?
VAWF uses the information we collect about you to respond to your queries and to administer the records we hold about you.
We also use it to help us to understand more about how our site is used and to be able to send you communications that you have requested, either electronically or otherwise.

4. Who is collecting your information?
When you are on the VAWF website and are asked for personal information, you are sharing that information with VAWF alone unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Access to your data is limited solely to VAWF and its authorised employees.
5. With whom does VAWF share your information?
Personal information given to us by you is treated as confidential and is not passed on to any other site.
VAWF will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information, except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.
6. What are my choices regarding, collection, use and distribution of my information?
If you indicated that you are interested in receiving regular information about VAWF’s work we will send you communications regarding our work and activities, either electronically or otherwise. This information is only sent if you have requested it.
7. What is VAWF’s policy on allowing me to update, correct, or delete my personally identifiable information?
The accuracy of your individual identifying information is important to VAWF. If you change email address or any of the other information we hold is inaccurate or out of date, please email us at info@voluntaryaction-wf.org.uk.
You may request the personal details we hold about you by contacting us.
